Description
The church on top is the Saint Amant de Boixe abbey, surrounded by blackbirds and fuchsia. The shield is gold with a thistle and a ball of wool, surrounded by a cat (Clairette, here symbolizing domestic life) and a lamb (symbolizing farm life).
The motto used to be on a badge of my grandmother's, along with a thistle. Literally, it means "If you rub against it, you'll get prickled" - the idea is along the lines of "if you try to bother me, you'll find trouble."
Or, in chief dexter a thistle Purpure and Vert, and in base sinister a ball of wool Gules and Sable. Shield surmounted by the Saint-Amant de Boixe abbey Carantion and Cendrée, surrounded by two blackbirds Sable volant. Supported by fuchsia Vert and Purpure, and by a cat and a lamb rampant, one Carnation and Cendrée and the other Argent and Cendrée. Under the shield, a scroll Sable bearing the motto “Qui s’y frotte s’y pique” Argent.
D’or, accompagné en chef à dextre d’un chardon de pourpre et de sinople, et en pointe à senestre d’une pelote de laine de gueules et de sable. L’écu surmonté de l’abbaye de Saint-Amant de Boixe, de carnation et de fer, qu’entourent deux merles de sable en vol. Soutenu par des fuchsias de sinople et de pourpre et supporté par un chat et un agneau rampants, l’un de carnation et de fer et l’autre d’argent et de fer. Sous l’écu, un listel de sable portant la devise « Qui s’y frotte s’y pique » d’argent.
